Handmade Gift Exchange

I participated in the Handmade Gift Exchange sponsored by Craftaholics Anonymous.  I sent off the cute banner featured in my previous post.

I used Lori Whitlock's Vintage font and cut letters out of gold glittery paper.

Lori Whitlock December Blog Hop

Do you ever find yourself wrapping presents at a very late hour with no gift tags left?  I have a solution for you using Lori Whitlock Digital Products.  I created some simple tags and formatted them in a Word Document.  Now they are ready to print.  Print out on label paper, or you could just print out on cardstock.
First I created a tag in PSE with the exact label dimensions that I needed, then saved it as a JPEG.  I then opened a new label document in Word with the right size label.  Here is what it looks like:

A tip for working with those images in Word. Right click the image, select Wrap Text, then Select Tight.  This allows for you to move the image around Word a little bit easier.  After you fill your page with tags, print it!

I used Lori's Christmas Eve Elements 2  for the tags. And everything at Jessica Sprague is 40% off, so time to fill up your cart with your favorites!

I also wanted to try out the Silhouette Sticker Paper, so I used the sames files to create a Print and Cut in Silhouette Studio.  Sometimes, when I am trying to trace an image in Studio, I have trouble, so I found a solution.  Open that document in PSE or Photoshop, fill your tag or other shape with black, then save as another file.  Click undo before changing your original file.

Open the black file in Silhouette Studio, then trace around the black file.  Open the colored file, line it up and voila, shape is traced.  Here are the tags ready to print and cut.

Now they are ready to put on presents.

I also created a fun banner with Lori's Vintage Font.  You can find this in her shop here as a True Type Font, or at the Silhouette Store. And everything at the Silhouette Store is 50% off right now.

I was inspired by Heidi Swapp's video here and a Christmas Tree by the Tom Cat Studio.  I used Lori's Vintage Font and cut letters from glittery gold paper with the Silhouette.

This one is actually a gift, but I think I need to make another one for me.

Enjoy the rest of the hop and sale!

Lori Whitlock November Blog Hop--Christmas Cards

Today is my first time for my blog to on a hop.  Thanks for stopping by.  I am thrilled to join the other talented ladies on Lori Whitlock's Creative Team.  We have a giveaway and a sale as well!  I created a digital Christmas Card that I printed at Persnickety Prints.  I used Echo Park's Reflections Christmas Collection designed by Lori Whitlock.  My card has a front and back and was printed like a postcard. The quality is amazing!

I spoke with Chari from Persnickety Prints, and she said to make sure to have a 1/4 inch bleed when using your own design. To make sure you have a 1/4 inch bleed, start with a document that is 1/4 inch bigger on each side. I created my card to be 5.25" wide by 7.25" long in Photoshop Elements.

The cards are printed on 110 lb. cardstock, so they are a bit different than the classic photographic paper print Christmas card.  I love how they turned out.  Get your card designed and uploaded to Persnickety Prints by November 30th to get 15% off your order (code EARLY15).

Here's my stack of cards!  I am so excited to send them, and I am so happy that they are finished so early.  I think the hardest part of a photo card is getting the photo, so grab that photo, and make a card!

Now onto the giveaway and sale information:

Enter below to win a $10 gift card to either the Digital Shop at Jessica Sprague, or Lori's SVG shop.  Indicate which gift card you want to win within the giveaway widget.  Good Luck.

Lori Whitlock Creative Team

Today over at Lori Whitlock, you'll see some new members of the Creative Team.  And wahoo, one of them is me!  I am so excited to join such a great team.  I love that Lori Whitlock has digital designs, paper designs, fabric, silhouette shapes, and more.

This week, Life Card 8 x 8 Templates are added to the store at Jessica Sprague.  I love the 8 x 8 size for mini books.  I bet you have at least one person on your Holiday List that is going to love a mini book for Christmas.  You can document a summer vacation, family reunion, or other event.  I got started on a Family Reunion book.  Here are my pages. I enjoyed scrapping with Lori's Summer Fun Collection.  It's cool outside here, but remembering the warm summer by documenting it is a nice reminder of all the sunny days with family.

Family Pictures

I really wanted to have some great family pictures this year.  Thanks to FotoFly, we were able to capture a few beauties.  Kegan was determined to make the photographer and assistant miserable, but they managed to pull out a few smiles.  But it was a chore, from wardrobe to managing the unwilling child.  Will see if we are willing to do every year!!
