Peaches

I started with these peaches in the sink. They look pretty here, don't they.
Then I rinsed them, and put them in very hot water, then cold, then removed the skins.  Then I started cutting. Then they weren't so pretty.  I don't like doing my peaches very much because most of the peaches get bruised somehow. I don't know all the reasons yet.  Some fall to the ground, and some get squished in the bags.  So I end up tossing half of each peach away.  Anyway after cutting, then this:

After bagging 6 quart size bags of peaches, I had these left over:

We will have some peaches for dinner.  Maybe we'll have something else too.

So after doing all those peaches.  I worked on some Digital Layouts for a while.  The time passed quickly.  I was sitting at my computer wondering why it smelled like rotting peaches.  I walked in the kitchen for some lunch and found this:
I have a bad habit of not finishing.  I worked so hard on peaches, then I took a break.  But this will attract fruit flies and look nasty and smell nasty.  So I decided to dump them outside.  But first I ate some lunch, and then there was a commercial for a TV show on, and I saw the actor that was in Human Target on the commercial.  So I needed to find out what happened to Human Target.  I don't get addicted to many shows.  That's probably because I like all the obscure shows that get cut after a season or two--namely Kyle XY and Human Target.  So I discovered that Human Target is cancelled.  Finally I took out the smelly skins and bruised peach bits to the compost pile in the garden.  I found out what a beautiful day it was, but I have been inside all day.  At this point, I think I have a few minutes to blog before my kids get home.  Well my kids did get home; they are feeding themselves snacks, so now it is time to get to the homework.

Bedroom Furniture

We are on a hunt for a bedroom set. We have looked at a few stores, so we are getting an idea of whatwe like. It seems like all the styles that I like best come in black. We were hoping for a brown. What color bed do you have? Pictured: Elease bed from Furniture Row.

Derby, Lost Tooth, Soccer

Anna competed in the Utah FC Stikerfest Tournament with her team UC Rage.  They lost only 1 game, but won the championship!! Go Rage.  Anna played forward and defense.

Garrett lost his first tooth finally!!  A much anticipated event!!  The tooth fairy even remembered to visit!
Nick and Kegan completed their first derby.  Kegan decided he wanted to make a tank!  It wasn't very fast, but it was really cool!!
Garrett started TaeKwondo.  He is enjoying it!

Bloggers

Dear Bloggers,

How do you post multiple posts each day, or even daily posts? I have decided with renewed effort that I will re-join the party. Don't expect multiple posts or daily, but hopefully weekly.

Today, I want to share one of my newest interests. I have discovered Jessica Sprague. There are many classes offered at Jessica Sprague, and I have taken a few. The latest class I am working on is Good to Great. It is a beginning Photo Editing class. Here is my before and after of a picture of the kids.

That's Photoshop Elements in Action. Here is a quick layout I made with the photo:

That's also created in Photoshop Elements with some Digital Goodies by Echo Park. Anna asked me the other day what I am going to do with all the things on my computer. Very valid question. I am practicing now, and soon my layouts will be worthy of printing. But since I just discovered this photo editing, I am going to have to re-do all previous layouts with edited photos.

Blue and Gold Banquet

If you have or have had a Cub Scout, you know that in February you celebrate cub scouting with the Blue and Gold Banquet. (Not to be confused with the Gold and Green Ball, and did you know that the Relief Society colors are also blue and gold?). Well all Packs might celebrate differently; I don't think there are any rules (but it is Scouting, so I could be totally wrong). Well each Den was asked to bring 2 cakes, so I volunteered. I got a great idea on-line to make a wolf cake (http://www.coolest-birthday-cakes.com/wolf-cake-3.html). The idea on-line said to use the Wilton Cake Animal Cracker pan. Well guess what, I went to 5 different stores and didn't find any Animal Cracker pan. But I really wanted to make this cake, so at the last store I looked at all the options, and I thought I could make Elmo work.

So here is Elmo a little altered. Oh and guess what, the last store I went to was Robert's Crafts. And they don't take coupons for Wilton items. I had to pay full price (blah)! Then the next day I went to the Party Store and found the pan for $5 less. Ugg!

I have not decorated many cakes, so this was a great one to start on. The fur I felt didn't have to be perfect!! It's a wolf!! My kids were quite impressed. They wanted to show all the neighbor kids.

Here is the final display. Anna helped me make a yellow board with a boarder. It looks very similar to the neckerchiefs that the wolves (as in the boys that are in the Wolf Den) wear. So my cake was definitely one of the most popular!! I mean who can resist a Wolf Cake! It might not have been the tastiest (I think I overcooked the cake; a little dry). But maybe next year I'll do even better. I have to get the use out of the full price Elmo pan. I think Elmo could also be a Bear and a Webelo (what's that? ha ha).
